Founded in 1988 in Rhode Island, the United States, WaterRower Inc. was established by Yale and US National Team Rower John Duke. Today, the company's Americas Headquarters remains based in the small coastal town of Warren, Rhode Island.
What sets our products apart is the unique design of WaterRower's wooden models, which are handcrafted from a selection of the world's finest sustainable hardwoods. As an American fitness brand, our comprehensive range of rowing machines are all manufactured in the quintessential coastal New England town of Warren, Rhode Island, and can be found in expansive health clubs, luxury hotels, and boutique fitness studios worldwide.
WaterRower is proud to be a supporter of the local Rhode Island community.
The unique WaterFlywheel of the WATERROWER has been engineered to precisely replicate the physical dynamics of a moving boat, providing the most authentic simulation of the physiological benefits and aesthetic pleasure of rowing. Like actual rowing, the WaterFlywheel does not apply resistance to the user; instead, the user applies work to it, serving as the engine. The "rule of cubes" dictates that the amount of work exerted determines the speed at which one rows, allowing for a customized experience from a gentle paddle to an intense workout. Ultimately, the user is in control, as the resistance and speed are limited only by their own effort.
The WaterFlywheel's design utilizes a specially formed paddle to cup the moving water, reducing slippage and delivering an unparalleled simulation of the rowing experience. This unique approach eliminates the jerkiness and jarring often associated with traditional mechanical rowing machines, providing a smooth, even load that is kind to the body and relaxing to the mind. The "give" in the connection between the user and the moving water dampens any detrimental mechanical feel, accommodating both good and developing techniques and minimizing the risk of injury.
The S4 Monitor measures the speed of the paddle using an infrared detector and a castellated Sensor Pickup, providing real-time feedback on the user's performance. A comfortable, contoured seat optimizes the rowing experience, promoting proper posture and efficient strokes, while integrated wheels enhance the machine's mobility and maneuverability.
WaterRower offers a variety of hardwood finishes, including Ash, Oak, Walnut, and Cherry, to suit any décor. Each model is crafted with an aluminum frame and is proudly made in the USA. Customer reviews consistently praise the WaterRower's quality, performance, and overall satisfaction, with ratings ranging from 4.2 to 4.6 out of 5 stars across the product line.
